CATALYSTS AND PROMOTERS

UNSATURATED POLYESTER RESINS

The cure of unsaturated polyesters is achieved by the use of a metallic accelerator, typically cobalt, and a peroxide or hydroperoxide initiator to effect the oxidative cross linking of the unsaturation in the polyester resin. DURA offers a number of accelearators and additives which can be used to achieve the desired cure profile.

UNSATURATED POLYESTER RESINS

Product Type Product Name Description / Application
Conventional Cobalt Accelerators
Duroct® Cobalt 6%, 8%, 10%, 12% Primary accelerators used to promote the crosslinking of unsaturated polyester resins. Color sensitive applications can dictate which cobalt promoter is optimum.
